Weekly Top 10 list: GOP convention hotel drama No. 1

The Top 10 list of most-popular stories on Hotel Check-In for the week ending Nov. 5 is a varied list, but three of the top stories have to do with politics.

The Top 10 also features headlines about a free falling hotel elevator, two iconic properties’ renovation plans and – to remind us that we’re approaching the holidays – the industry’s first system-wide Black Friday deal.

The No. 1 most-read story on Hotel Check-In was also the most-commented story with 414 comments.

Note: Regular readers may notice that this Top 10 list skips the Department of Homeland Security targeting hotel guests with TV ads, even though it was a popular piece that now has 251 comments. The reason: I wrote that story for USA TODAY’s print edition and, as such, it’s not measured against blog posts.
