U.S. tourist drowns at an infamous Aruba beach

In August, American Robyn Gardner was reported missing by her travel companion, Gary Giordano, who said she was pulled out to sea while they were snorkeling at Aruba’s normally tranquil Baby Beach. Her body hasn’t been found, and he was released after being detained for more than three months for questioning.

Now comes word that another American, identified by The Aruba Herald only as “Jing Wei” with no hometown given, has drowned at Baby Beach.

The newspaper said that it happened Friday as she was at the beach with her husband. The paper says they were snorkeling with a tour group. Photos show the body being removed from the water and the husband emotionally interacting with ambulance personnel.

The case is under investigation as is standard procedure, the newspaper says, though there was no indication that foul play was involved.
