Pottery Barn to sell Westin’s Heavenly Bed

Do you miss your hotel mattress when you sleep at home?

No problem. Starting next week, it will be easier to buy the hotel industry’s most famous mattress: Westin’s luxury Heavenly Bed.

That’s because Westin-parent Starwood cut a deal with Pottery Barn to begin selling the bed, which is credited with revolutionizing the way that hotels sell sleep in 1999.

Initially, Pottery Barn will begin selling the innerspring Heavenly Bed mattress on its website on Dec. 28, Reuters reports.

In January, the beds will begin popping up in your local mall in Pottery Barn’s 192 North American stores, the story says.

Until now, the mattress has only been available through 58 Nordstrom stores with home sections, and Westin.

Despite limited visibility in malls, Westin has sold about 60,000 of its mattresses over the years, Westin brand chief Brian Povinelli told Reuters.

“We were looking for ways to broaden the exposure of the product,” Povinelli said. “Nordstrom and Pottery Barn are on a very short list of brands we would want to partner with.”

Pottery Barn customers will be able to buy a complete bedroom set instead of shopping somewhere else for a mattress, the story says.

The Heavenly Bed comes in sizes from twin to California king. Prices will range from about $1,200 to $1,800.
