Celebrity chef Charlie Palmer, Seabourn Cruise Line part ways

Celebrity chef Charlie Palmer’s 10-year relationship with Seabourn Cruise Line is coming to an end.

In a press release sent out early today, the Charlie Palmer Group says the creator of the award-winning Aureole restaurants in Las Vegas and New York will be leaving his role as the luxury line’s Consulting Executive Chef in December.

“It has been a fulfilling journey to work with Seabourn and introduce creative dishes that showcase familiar and fresh ingredients,” Palmer says in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Seabourn’s clientele demands five-star hospitality, and I was determined to demonstrate that five-star cuisine could be a part of that experience.”

Palmer has consulted on the menus found in the main restaurants of all six Seabourn ships, and Palmer-trained chefs serve up tasting menus at the secondary Restaurant 2 eateries found on the line’s three latest vessels, the Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn and Seabourn Quest.

“We are grateful to Charlie for the expertise and insight he has provided us,” Seabourn President Richard Meadows says in a statement. “It has indeed been a fulfilling journey and, I might add, a delicious one. Charlie’s guidance to Seabourn’s highly-skilled culinary team has helped bring Seabourn’s cuisine on par with the best in the world.”
